Hi,
Thank you for being here. I have high regard for those loved ones who are trying to make life a better place for their sick family or friend.
I was raised to be a nurse, a noble profession my grandmother used to say. I grew up in sea side village, in the islands of India. Few thing were drilled into me as a child.
Circle of life (the story of life and death)
A word of prayer, hot bowl of soup and a good massage is food for soul and medicine for body.
Looking after the sick and needy is sabab ka kaam ( holy work).
Endless hours of soothing others when they are in agony and pain, teaching people how to breath through medical procedures, how to relax themselves enough to sleep, how to self massage to reduce swelling after surgery ……………..
IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN SICK - you know surgery will help take the cause of sickness away, medication will help take the pain away. There is nothing in the market to ease a weary soul, sadness that comes with isolation of the illness, or helplessness that comes with becoming so dependent on others to meet your basic needs like hygiene.
For me massage was and is a part of everyday life. It was a component of my nursing studies. When I first came to Australia I used to work in nursing homes and soon realized how calming a hand, foot or head massage was for a resident with dementia.
Then my mother in law, requested if I could massage her friend who had cancer. This started my massage journey here in Australia, today I am a massage therapist with
Dip in Remedial Massage
Lymphatic Therapy
Oncology Massage Therapy
Pediatric Massage Therapy
Touch Therapy for Children With Cancer, ASD
I have massage people suffering from cancer, people after surgery, children, people with dementia, provided touch therapy for people on their deathbed.
But my passion remains in
teaching family and friends simple techniques that they can use with confidence in nurturing their loved ones at home.
Raising awareness of Touch as a Therapy.
I live in northern beaches of sydney Australia with my husband and 3 children, I teach them what my mother taught me. I have my room at wellness Centre, at Kinghorn Cancer Research Centre Darlinghurst.
Mantra of my life
